Turkey day has come and gone and I lost track of time and forgot to post :(
In Summary:
The day was absolutely beautiful in Houston, my sister and brother-in-law invited the whole family into their home with open arms. Turkey and all the fixings were perfect and hit the spot :) We could not have asked for a more wonderful thanksgiving, oh and the family game night is always a hit with us! I even learned how to needle point which I never ever thought would happen! We are so blessed!

October's Over - November's Next
Halloween night was awesome. I took Maverick down to "El Valle" to trick-or-treat with some very special friends! Little Miss Payton was the cutest little pink pig! She was not feeling too well at the beginning of the festivities but was ready to trick-or-treat! Miss Mikaela was a pretty little witch! Maverick was of course Bam Bam and looked cute even though I had to put a long sleeve turtle neck on him because of the chilly weather. His poor little legs went bare. We decided to go door to door a little early since our tots have an early bedtime, so we were the first to hit the street. We went around Mrs. Bosch"s neighborhood and got tons of candy :) Maverick walked as much as he could, but his little legs slowed us down, so mommy got a good workout in from carrying him around! They only thing we need to work for next year is, we do not enter every house, we just stop at the door and get the candy! If he saw a doggie inside forget it, he was going in! This Halloween was so much fun! Last year Maverick was only a week old and I didn't torture him with a costume. This year he was an official trick-or-treater! His Paw Paw taught him to go up to the door and say "Gimmi some candy" He's not talking yet so maybe he can use it next year :)

Maverick's 1st Birthday
Happy Birthday sweet baby boy! I can't believe he's a year old! What a difference a year makes! I don't know how to put the breaks on and make the time slow down, but I am sure loving each and every moment of this adventure with my son! He is that boy who smiles at you all the time, laughs at silly things, thinks biting is fun, is not afraid to let you know he doesn't like something, gives the best hugs on earth, and knows how to melt your heart with one simple look! He's kind, loving, and sweet. He is the gift from God that Jesse and I prayed for on so many occasions! He is Maverick Anthony De La Rosa 1 year old!

The Boy can Shake it!
October is minutes away! I love this month! Mimi is almost done with his costume for the 31st and we will hopefully be in the Valley to trick or treat with some of my girlfriends and their kiddos! Even more exciting Maverick turns a year this month and this little boy has learned to shake it! Below are some pictures of his 1st official costume and his new dance moves!

Maverick turns 11 months!
Things have been crazy around here: runny noses, falling off spider man chair daily, school, art shows, constantly cleaning a messy house (As soon as it's clean our little "Texas Tornado" comes through to tear it apart) the list goes on and on. In all this chaos we are still always trying to count our blessing! We are ultimately healthy, happy, and laughing everyday! Sometimes just before Jesse and I close are eyes to go to sleep we reminisce about the day and all the things Maverick did that made us smile. We laugh and joke. This is some of our favorite time together and as tired as we are I wouldn't miss this time for anything! Our little boy is 11 months now and on the verge of his 1st birthday! Where did the time go? Our lives have been turned and flipped up side down since we met this little honey! It has been the best flip of our lives!
New Milestones met this past week: clapping, waving bye-bye, and some silly circles he learned in daycare. Below you can see for yourself :)

Labor day weekend is almost here!
We are getting ready for another big weekend here at the De La Rosa casa! My sister and her family are coming in tomorrow for the long weekend, so we can get the kids together and hang out at the beach this Saturday. Mimi and PawPaw will also be coming up to stay and visit with the youngsters! We can't wait! Jesse and I need a break from school and what better way to do it then with family :)
Having a congested baby is exhausting because he think it's play time in the middle of the night!
Trying new things can be very messy, but fun!

In-home daycare
Maverick turned 10 months today and to show him what a big boy he is we sent him off to daycare for the first time! Jesse and I were so nervous to leave him. We both went to drop him off which is literally 30 yards directly in front of our house. I packed him a survival bag full of all his necessities: diapers, shoes, baby Tylenol, tons of bottles, change of clothes, you name it I had it. You never know anything could happen. The sitter looks at me and says "that's great, thanks for bringing all that" I'm sure she thought I was a extremely paranoid mommy. I set him down in the play room and zoom he took off for the toys just smiling away. I felt good knowing he was smiling as hard as it was to leave him. I told myself not to call ever thirty minutes, but I just had to check on him before I left to my morning class! Long story short within the first hour he had already taken a spill and busted his upper lip :( I wanted to run over and scoop him up never to leave his side again! She said he was fine, and not to worry! YEAH RIGHT! I fought the urge to go and get him knowing I couldn't miss my Anatomy class. I called many times to keep checking on him. I picked him up as soon as I could and saw his little red lip :( Now I truly know what heartbreak is!!! After talking to Jesse, my mom, and friends I've tried to convince myself that this could have happened at home even while I was watching him. Not being with him is one of the hardest things, but in the end I know I'm doing this for him! I'm praying things go well from here on out. No one can love him the way I do!!!

Back to the Collage Life
I am officially back in Collage! According to Jesse this means it's back to roman noodles and major budge changes! It's only for a year and a half so I know we can do it. Maverick will be starting in-home Daycare across the street on Monday. He will go Monday thru Thursday all day. This is not what we originally planned, but now that I am taking 16 hours I will need plenty of study time. It's going to be hard not to walk across the street to go visit him or pick him up early, so I'll have to stay around school to keep focused. One of my professors says Communication Science and Disorders is the hottest major on campus this semester. It must be because I enrolled right? I'm looking forward to the challenges being back in school brings :) Sept. 22nd is the mid way point and that seems pretty close already!
Oh before I forget the biggest news in Mavericks life is: HE"S WALKING!!! at 9 and a half months he was taking a bunch of steps and falling down, and now at almost 10 months he walks everywhere: Inside, outside, over rocks, in the dirt. You name it he'll walk on it. Two small problems: Rocks and sticks are now fun to eat and sometimes I think he's trying to run. My only wish is that he would SLOW down, he's growing up WAY TOO quickly. I want him to stay my little baby FOREVER! Oh how I just love his little face, here see for yourself:
The cutest little pre soccer player!
I know it's August but I just had to get him these bone PJs! I love Halloween!

9 months old!
Every night before I go to bed I thank God for giving Jesse and me our beautiful boy Maverick. I can't even explain what he means to me. He is simply everything... A huge light in side this little being that shines and lightens up our entire life. He makes me love like I never knew I could. He is so happy, excepting, and open to any idea the day brings as crazy at it may be. He has become our little parrot and entertains anyone who will watch and listen. He is Maverick Anthony, And I just can't help but smile every night before I fall asleep knowing he is my son :) Here he is 9 months old:

Fouth and Family
Some how I convinced my family to come to good ole Kingsville Texas for the 4th! The whole town consist of about two major street. One fast food lane and the other 4 stores down town. 8 adults 4 kids and 3 dogs all packed away in one house. Not only did we survive with out killing each other, we also had a blast. We were only missing Larry but thought of him often. We had beer, wine, and ammo (fireworks) too! Saturday we ventured to the beach to see the Texas State Aquarium. Way too many people and too many little guys. The incidence were minimal, some crying, a little yelling, and a whole lot of puke! I'm so glad we all got together for this. Can't wait until the next go round :) It may be cow town, but it's our town now!
