OK I know this is super late but here it goes (act surprised): Thora Olivia Luz is here! She was born February 3rd 2011 (Yes I know it's June) and we have been so over joyed, excited, and wrapped around every moment of her life I have not been able to post! She is the sweetest thing on earth and has the calmest coolest demeanor! Extremely laid back and nothing gets this girl down. She rarely cries, started sleeping through the night extremely early and smiles at everything :) Big Brother Maverick is very protective of his little sis and says "I kiss sister goodnight" As soon as we start getting ready to go anywhere he says "sister go too!" I love my boy, but this little girl has also stolen my heart! Life is great! Jesse, Maverick, Thora, and I were leaving the park the other day and a professor from Pan Am that Jesse knows stopped us looked down at the children smiled and said "Now that's the closest you can get to God!" I completely agree!

News News News
OK so I am months and months behind on this blogging thing! So much to say so I will try to sum up all the good parts. First of all the biggest news of all wait for it.... WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!!! We are so excited and can't wait for the little one to get here. Due date is Feb. 14th but if all goes as planned a c-section is scheduled for Feb. 7th. We had our 17 weeks visit today and doc said 80% chance it's a girl! I am hoping he's right, but am thinking I might go to one of those 4d places next week to do a gender prediction. I had to wait forever to find out what Maverick was and I really just don't have the patients anymore for not knowing!
We are back in McAllen, well Maverick and I are and Jess is from Friday through Sunday. We are at my mom and dad's house for the time being till we get everything together to purchase our first home! It's a little surreal being back home and having Mave take a bath in the same tub I did and sleep in my old room! I'm working at Stepping Stones Rehab as an almost speech assistant (waiting for my license to arrive so I can be a real assistant! Man the state takes forever on this stuff!!!) My mom is taking care of Maverick and he just loves his Mimi.
With all the craziness of packing and storing and moving I have been way to busy! Now with work starting and an ever growing belly I have even more on my plate! But even through all the exhaustion my favorite part of the day (even the really long work days) is coming home to that little smiling face, the one that says I wove u! That little boy makes me laugh and smile and know it's all worth it. I wish I could bottle all the love I have for him and pass it out to the world. He's amazing!!!

Is it possible?
How is it that my 20 month old son is wearing size 7 boys shoes! This is insanity! He grows out of his shoes within months! I tried and tried to squeeze his little piggies into a toddler size six with no luck and hung my head as I had to take him the box that read BOYS size 7 :( From a toddler to a boy and I have NO say So! This can't be happening! He's not even 2 yet!

Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's day to all the mommies that love our babies even when they throw a fit (in public), decide not to listen and jump off the couch landing head first, run from you b/c they think it's a fun game, growl at the sound of the words "bedtime", throw dinner mashed potatoes (again b/c that's funny), and wake up ever night at 3 AM just because they can! Happy Mother's day! It really is unconditional love! I wouldn't change one thing about him :)

Spring is in the air
We are midway through spring break already :( The weather has been perfect all but one rainy day and Maverick and I have been able to spend most our time outside. We have had one small hitch in our day with the time change this past weekend, which makes Pony very sad at bedtime. He can't understand why he is going to bed when the sun has not completely set, I don't blame him I'm still not use to it either! Last weekend the De La Rosa crew headed to Austin and we had an amazing time. My brother and sister-in-law got a bran spanking new house and we slept on air mattresses to break the place in. Family, BBQ, and a kite festival, who could ask for more? This coming weekend we head to The Valley!
Ok so he was the only toddler there with his shirt off, besides his cousin who followed suit, but in my defense he had a ton of sun block on and it was hot! Keep Austin weird right? The day was beautiful even after the 40 minute walk from the car!

Our little hiking trip thanks to Uncle Larry :)

February Already?
As I type I can hear Maverick over the monitor just talking away to himself. It' 8:50 and he has been in bed since 8:00 but the last few nights it takes him about an hour to get himself to fall sleep. He doesn't seem to mind because the sound of his own voice is very entertaining to him. He will gab gab gab, then sing sing sing. It is really soothing to me actually, kind of makes me want to take a nap LOL.
I can't believe we are almost done with the first week of February already! School is back in and Jesse's mom and my mom have been oh so kind to be coming every week to help us out with taking care of Maverick. They switch on and off kind of tag-team style. We are oh so grateful! It has been a true blessing having them here to help.
My first exam is coming up next week which means things are back in action full force. I can already envision the late nights with no sleep, not looking forward to that! We are headed to Houston on February 20th for cousin Noah's b-day party, we can't wait.
Next week we are doing a 5k with the local Catholic Church group and we plan to go to build and grow at Lowe's after so Maverick can make mommy her jewelry box, so excited. I also want to get a craft project going so Pony can send out little valentine gifts!
New Dinosaur Pjs and bongo set! He LOVES music!

Back on the old schedule!
We are so glad to be back home! We had so much fun in the valley, but living out of a suitcase is not so great after almost a month! Maverick is back in his crib and back on his 11 and 3 o'clock nap schedule which keeps mommy sane! We also got to host our first play date with some toddlers from the neighborhood. I made some awesome caramel coconut brownies from scratch thanks to my sister Sara's Rachael Ray recipe she sent me and us mamas talked. The kids had a lot of fun, even though it took Maverick a good amount of time to share his toys with everyone! We will keep working on it, I would have a hard time too if strangers just showed up to my house and started taking out all my toys LOL! I was a little nervous hosting 4 mamas and 4 toddlers but my fears were unnecessary. It was very relaxed and we got to plan more walking dates and play dates. I am looking forward to both. School starts again this coming Wednesday and Maverick will not be attending daycare this semester thanks to daddy rearranging his classes so one of us can be off to watch the sweetheart. I hope this plan holds up and works out. Oh plus daddy and I decided we have to schedule a date night at least once a week after Maverick goes to bed. We tried it last week and it was awesome! We watched an old black and white film together (here at the house of course) and enjoyed some cactus lime beers. Best of all I even got a back rub!!!I can't wait for the next one. Sometimes we just forget to make time to do stuff together because we are both so busy with school, work, and our little "Pony Boy" *This has become Maverick's new nickname from the movie and book "The Outsiders" His cousin has become "Soda Pop" LOL. Here are some pictures from the Valley with love and his first official play date, ENJOY!!!

Turkery after taste
Turkey day has come and gone and I lost track of time and forgot to post :(
In Summary:
The day was absolutely beautiful in Houston, my sister and brother-in-law invited the whole family into their home with open arms. Turkey and all the fixings were perfect and hit the spot :) We could not have asked for a more wonderful thanksgiving, oh and the family game night is always a hit with us! I even learned how to needle point which I never ever thought would happen! We are so blessed!

October's Over - November's Next
Halloween night was awesome. I took Maverick down to "El Valle" to trick-or-treat with some very special friends! Little Miss Payton was the cutest little pink pig! She was not feeling too well at the beginning of the festivities but was ready to trick-or-treat! Miss Mikaela was a pretty little witch! Maverick was of course Bam Bam and looked cute even though I had to put a long sleeve turtle neck on him because of the chilly weather. His poor little legs went bare. We decided to go door to door a little early since our tots have an early bedtime, so we were the first to hit the street. We went around Mrs. Bosch"s neighborhood and got tons of candy :) Maverick walked as much as he could, but his little legs slowed us down, so mommy got a good workout in from carrying him around! They only thing we need to work for next year is, we do not enter every house, we just stop at the door and get the candy! If he saw a doggie inside forget it, he was going in! This Halloween was so much fun! Last year Maverick was only a week old and I didn't torture him with a costume. This year he was an official trick-or-treater! His Paw Paw taught him to go up to the door and say "Gimmi some candy" He's not talking yet so maybe he can use it next year :)
