Got it!

First Words

Maverick just turned six months, and I know he doesn't know what it means, but yesterday he started saying MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMA! It was clear as day! It counts his first words were MAMA! Jesse said this morning he kept saying it again. I hope he doesn't think Dada is Mama. I am trying to capture it on video. I will post it as soon as I can. My heart melted when I heard it!

Summer is NEAR!

Maverick attended his first pool party yesterday. Angie's daughter Mikaela turned 8 years old. Maverick has always liked his bath from the very first time he got in. I was not sure how he would react to the pool, but I was pretty sure he would enjoy it since he is such a happy laid back little man. He got right in and was in his element! We had a great time at the party! Happy Birthday Mikaela!

From that first day of bringing him home I knew it would be exciting and fun, but I had NO idea how much FUN! Maverick is growing and changing everyday! It is such a beautiful thing to see. He lights up my heart, I hope these photos bring a smile to your face. Happy Easter!

Maverick and moving on my mind!

Wow we have already finished the first week of April. Time is flying! I've got Maverick on my mind and Spring Cleaning lurking in the far corner. As many of you know we are getting ready to move this June. It is now official! Kingsville here we come. Jesse signed the lease on the new house this past Monday. Moving date is June 1st. I have to work until June 3rd so we will be over in Kingsville first thing this summer. I am looking forward to being close to Jesse's work. He has really been a trooper driving back and forth from McAllen to Kingsville everyday. I can't imagine how hard that must be for him. I'm also looking forward to going back to school and taking care of Maverick. I am going to miss my parents dearly! I still am not sure how I am going to manage without them. I am trying to convince Mimi to tag along. I am also going to miss my friends. I still hang out with my girlfriends from high school and I have made wonderful new friends from work. My hope is to maintain close connections to these girls. This move is going to be hard, but it is a decision we made as a family. I've got 7 weeks to pack up the house, and luckily Jennifer hooked me up with a garage sale this weekend!

Here are some recent pics of my "little buddy"

First time in a swing, he loved it. I went out and got one for his Easter gift. Great big tree at the new house. It's going to be perfect!

Tourist Day in Mexico

The whole Family headed to Mexico today for tourist day. Mimi, PawPaw, and Angie met up at our house around 10 and we headed out. When we pulled up to the bridge we saw tons and tons of people so we thought we might be in over our heads. We got across the bridge in no time at all. We did have to maneuver between the crowds, but we always found an opening. We made all our pre-planned destination stops: 1st Corn, 2nd: Michiladas 3rd: Lounches (a fried bread with meet and avocado yummy). We were all happy campers. Maverick never got crabby but I could tell he was a little warm from the sun. Overall it was a great time. I'm glad we went and that we got to see Jesse's family!

We had to get Maverick naked after that long walk back. He likes wearing just his pamper.

PawPaw bought Mimi her flowery crown. She looked very pretty!

Spring Break

Jesse and I are so excited to have an entire week to spend together with Maverick and each other! This is a rare occasion since he is driving 5 days a week to Kingsville to teach and working at Pan-Am at night. This was some well needed and deserved time together. Today we took Mave to the Livestock show. It was a little hot, but with Mimi's help we managed to get around and have a great time. Oh I almost forgot. I took Maverick to get his first set of portrait studio photos yesterday. They came out so cute! I'll be posting those soon!

Doesn't every baby need one of these?

My favorite picture of the day!
