February Already?

As I type I can hear Maverick over the monitor just talking away to himself. It' 8:50 and he has been in bed since 8:00 but the last few nights it takes him about an hour to get himself to fall sleep. He doesn't seem to mind because the sound of his own voice is very entertaining to him. He will gab gab gab, then sing sing sing. It is really soothing to me actually, kind of makes me want to take a nap LOL.

I can't believe we are almost done with the first week of February already! School is back in and Jesse's mom and my mom have been oh so kind to be coming every week to help us out with taking care of Maverick. They switch on and off kind of tag-team style. We are oh so grateful! It has been a true blessing having them here to help.

My first exam is coming up next week which means things are back in action full force. I can already envision the late nights with no sleep, not looking forward to that! We are headed to Houston on February 20th for cousin Noah's b-day party, we can't wait.

Next week we are doing a 5k with the local Catholic Church group and we plan to go to build and grow at Lowe's after so Maverick can make mommy her jewelry box, so excited. I also want to get a craft project going so Pony can send out little valentine gifts!

New Dinosaur Pjs and bongo set! He LOVES music!

Back on the old schedule!

We are so glad to be back home! We had so much fun in the valley, but living out of a suitcase is not so great after almost a month! Maverick is back in his crib and back on his 11 and 3 o'clock nap schedule which keeps mommy sane! We also got to host our first play date with some toddlers from the neighborhood. I made some awesome caramel coconut brownies from scratch thanks to my sister Sara's Rachael Ray recipe she sent me and us mamas talked. The kids had a lot of fun, even though it took Maverick a good amount of time to share his toys with everyone! We will keep working on it, I would have a hard time too if strangers just showed up to my house and started taking out all my toys LOL! I was a little nervous hosting 4 mamas and 4 toddlers but my fears were unnecessary. It was very relaxed and we got to plan more walking dates and play dates. I am looking forward to both. School starts again this coming Wednesday and Maverick will not be attending daycare this semester thanks to daddy rearranging his classes so one of us can be off to watch the sweetheart. I hope this plan holds up and works out. Oh plus daddy and I decided we have to schedule a date night at least once a week after Maverick goes to bed. We tried it last week and it was awesome! We watched an old black and white film together (here at the house of course) and enjoyed some cactus lime beers. Best of all I even got a back rub!!!I can't wait for the next one. Sometimes we just forget to make time to do stuff together because we are both so busy with school, work, and our little "Pony Boy" *This has become Maverick's new nickname from the movie and book "The Outsiders" His cousin has become "Soda Pop" LOL. Here are some pictures from the Valley with love and his first official play date, ENJOY!!!

Turkery after taste

Turkey day has come and gone and I lost track of time and forgot to post :(

In Summary:

The day was absolutely beautiful in Houston, my sister and brother-in-law invited the whole family into their home with open arms. Turkey and all the fixings were perfect and hit the spot :) We could not have asked for a more wonderful thanksgiving, oh and the family game night is always a hit with us! I even learned how to needle point which I never ever thought would happen! We are so blessed!

October's Over - November's Next

Halloween night was awesome. I took Maverick down to "El Valle" to trick-or-treat with some very special friends! Little Miss Payton was the cutest little pink pig! She was not feeling too well at the beginning of the festivities but was ready to trick-or-treat! Miss Mikaela was a pretty little witch! Maverick was of course Bam Bam and looked cute even though I had to put a long sleeve turtle neck on him because of the chilly weather. His poor little legs went bare. We decided to go door to door a little early since our tots have an early bedtime, so we were the first to hit the street. We went around Mrs. Bosch"s neighborhood and got tons of candy :) Maverick walked as much as he could, but his little legs slowed us down, so mommy got a good workout in from carrying him around! They only thing we need to work for next year is, we do not enter every house, we just stop at the door and get the candy! If he saw a doggie inside forget it, he was going in! This Halloween was so much fun! Last year Maverick was only a week old and I didn't torture him with a costume. This year he was an official trick-or-treater! His Paw Paw taught him to go up to the door and say "Gimmi some candy" He's not talking yet so maybe he can use it next year :)

We stopped over at Aunt Liz's house for some snacks! So Yummy :)

Maverick's 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday sweet baby boy! I can't believe he's a year old! What a difference a year makes! I don't know how to put the breaks on and make the time slow down, but I am sure loving each and every moment of this adventure with my son! He is that boy who smiles at you all the time, laughs at silly things, thinks biting is fun, is not afraid to let you know he doesn't like something, gives the best hugs on earth, and knows how to melt your heart with one simple look! He's kind, loving, and sweet. He is the gift from God that Jesse and I prayed for on so many occasions! He is Maverick Anthony De La Rosa 1 year old!

Here are some pictures from Maverick and Eli's "Down on the Farm" Party (It was MOOvelous!
